Our Story
We’re Skip and Susan. We met in Vermont, were married here, and like a lot of folks do, moved away looking for a new life and new dreams. Twelve years later, our goals had changed. Our new vision was not only to have a life together but to “work” together. Getting the ball rolling meant moving back to Vermont; we knew that’s where we wanted to be.
Finding the ideal venture took some soul searching and luck! In the interim, Skip took a position as general manager at Pie in the Sky. Skip had 25 years in the hospitality industry; he knew a good thing when he saw it. When Pie in the Sky became available for sale, five years later, we knew what we’d been waiting to find had been waiting for us.
If you’re familiar with Pie in the Sky, you won’t find the atmosphere or the food has changed much. We still have fun, the pizza is still wood fired, the pasta is made to order, the ingredients are the finest we can get, and we still work closely with area communities to use local and organic products whenever possible. We are honored to be a part of what brings people back to Stowe. We hope you’ll like our new, old face.
For those who haven’t experienced us yet, we invite you to visit Stowe, Vermont and Pie in the Sky. Try our out of this world pizza and pasta for après ski, après hike, après bike. Enjoy a cold beer on our deck on a hot summer day or relax with a glass of wine in front of our wood fired oven on a cold winter day. We’ve got the seasons, the atmosphere, and the fare.
